Principal’s Welcome!

Welcome to Morley Primary School!

Located in the centre of Morley, our school is at the heart of the community and has been for over 80 years. Our buildings reflect this heritage while possessing contemporary equipment and technology. In addition, we have a well-resourced library and purpose-built Art Centre which hosts classrooms for specialist Music, Visual Arts and Science. Morley Primary has offered Mandarin lessons across the school for many years. The school is situated in lovely grounds and our Early Childhood students benefit from a nature play space.

An Independent Public School since 2017, we celebrate a culturally diverse student population with more than 31 different languages being spoken at home. Our enrolment of 175 students between Kindergarten and Year Six enjoy a safe, friendly and inclusive environment.

Moral Purpose

Our best – for every learner, every day.

For every child to be themselves, be present, be fair, be safe, be kind and be a learner.

For every child to know and feel they belong in our school, local and global community; and contribute to those communities.

For every child to have the opportunity to become their best self to make the most of the possibilities of the future.

Mission

  • Sustain a positive; caring and aspirational environment in which students, families and staff can each be their best.
  • Ensure every student matters everyday as they work towards achieving their academic, creative, social, emotional and physical potential. We work with rigour and aim for excellence..
  • Maintain a strong sense of belonging for all and contribute responsible, self-assured and compassionate individuals to the world.

Our Expectations

Morley Primary has four simple expectations for the safety and wellbeing of the whole school community.

  • Be fair
  • Be kind
  • Be safe
  • Be learners

The MPS expectations and our Positive Behaviour Support Matrix, assists students, teachers and parents to establish and maintain a code of behaviour that promotes a welcoming, safe and supportive environment. Students learn and practise the expectations, and this is reinforced in the classroom and through our BUZ Awards recognition system.
